My sorrows are all tied up in others,
save one.
The one that taught me that I am alone.
I can still hold you,
for however brief a time.
Just as the Sun holds the Earth
for as long as she can,
Though the Earth passes always into the night.
And the Sun, too, is alone,
surrounded by a darkness that is not hers.
She shines anyway,
dancing… dancing…
her warm rays embracing
All that she can reach.
