In my final semester on campus at Adams State University (student teaching next semester!), I am excited to announce my Senior Composition Recital!

Please join me on Saturday, March 23 at 7:00 PM in Leon Memorial Hall to enjoy music I’ve had the privilege to compose under the guidance of Dr. Matthew Schildt during my undergraduate career!

The recital is free and open to the public.  Click here for directions! (Change A to your location)

Featured selections will include:

A Silly Waltz – This is a piece all ages will enjoy!  Who doesn’t love whoopee cushions, butlers, bowties, and an obnoxious cowbell?  In five acts: I. Introduction II. Dance of the Bassuba III. Dance of the Piccolet IV. Trombolin Jazz Waltz V. Conclusion and Cowbell Catastrophe

Tale of Sea and Star – The poetic text projected during this performance can be found in my Poetry section.

Film Score – This is the final project from my Computer Music class.  I scored and soundscaped a few scenes from one of my favorite movies, Titan A.E.

Little Women – An original arrangement of the music written by Thomas Newman for the cherished 1994 film.

Mystery Piece – I have always wanted to write work for the dramatic stage.  The final piece is my Senior Composition Project, which I have written in secret and which will be unveiled at the recital.  But, as I greatly appreciate your interest, I will give you a clue, or, rather, a caution – it MAY contain ninjas.

Hope to see you there!

Much love,
~Chelsea
